Southside set to welcome Birmingham Bears for coffee van tour

Edgbaston-based cricket team, Birmingham Bears, has revealed the return of its popular coffee van tour across six locations, for a second year, to celebrate the new competition launch event for the Vitality Blast, Blast Off.

‘Bears on Tour’ is set to once again tour across the West Midlands from Tuesday 9th – Friday 12th May, for a six-stop road trip across Birmingham and Coventry, to highlight the brand new Vitality Blast T20 competition launch  event, Blast Off at Edgbaston on 20 May and the team’s kit, which is sustainably produced from recycled coffee beans.

The coffee van will launch at two city centre locations on Tuesday 9th May as it travels to BrindleyPlace and Cathedral Square, before coming to Southside in Hippodrome Square on Wednesday 10th May. On Thursday 11th May, the van will park up at the Birmingham City University (BCU) campus, before visiting two locations in Coventry for its final day on Friday 12th May - Broadgate in Coventry city centre and Edgwick Park in Foleshill.

Throughout the four-day tour, the public will have the chance to enjoy a selection of free, freshly brewed hot drinks in branded Birmingham Bears cups. Players from Birmingham Bears will also be visiting the coffee van at selected locations, offering fans the opportunity to stop for a brew and meet their favourite player.

Fans who love their coffee as much as their live sport can take part in a prize draws at each location for the opportunity to win special prizes, including home tickets to catch the Bears in action in the Vitality Blast T20 season this summer.

With just over a week to go until the opening game of this year’s T20 season, the team are gearing up for an exciting set of match days, which begins on Saturday 20th May at Blast off where the Bears take on Yorkshire Vikings at Edgbaston and Derbyshire Falcons face Lancashire Lightning, in a similar atmosphere to the famous Finals Day. The Bears’ final home fixture of the campaign is the highly-anticipated game against Durham on Sunday 2nd July.
