StrEATery

Visitors to Birmingham’s Southside District will be able to enjoy a whole new al fresco experience thanks to the approval of the BID’s ‘StrEATery’ plans, which will see Hurst Street pedestrianised for summer.

Everything kicks off on Saturday 15th August, with Birmingham City Council agreeing to pedestrianise Hurst Street from Inge Street to Skinner Lane for six consecutive weekends. All venues found along this stretch will be able to add extra seating on the newly cordoned-off road, helping them to recoup revenue that has been lost due to capacity restrictions.

Popular spots such as The Loft Lounge, Sidewalk, Missing Bar and Chinatown restaurants like Topokki will be venturing out on to Hurst Street from 12pm each Saturday with trading finishing at 11pm on Sundays. Hurst Street will remain in use to vehicles during the week.
